What was the highlight of Basma Hotel Aswan
Wonderful
The booked room was comfortable with good amenities. The was good with different kinds of cheese and the restaurant is one of the best choices in Aswan.
The only remark is the hotel location, although the view is stunning because it's located up the hill, walking there from downtown can be a challenge endeavor in the hot season. Nevertheless, you can always rely on a taxi for around 50 egp.

Booked for 4 nights, missed our flight so didn’t arrive until the 2nd day but we were still charged for the first night
We loved our room-large terrace and comfy bed.
Restaurant - breakfast was ok but evening meals were hit and miss - so much so that we didn’t even get what we ordered on the last night, for main or desert as kitchen had run out and we were just bought something different!

What was the highlight of Basma Hotel Aswan
A nice hotel near the Nubian Museum which provided a quiet room when requested.
I requested a quiet room on an upper floor that wasn't near families/children and the hotel provided that perfectly. The front desk staff was welcoming and a young woman (I'm sorry I can't recall her name) who was serving drinks poolside was very kind and helpful. She brought a towel to me when I came to the pool and didn't know where I was supposed to get/request one...it was not her job to do that but she went out of her way to do so. The restaurant staff on the the other hand only gave me attention when they needed my room number and then they were done with me. The guest relations/tours woman whose desk sits directly in front of the elevators wouldn't even look at me, no greeting, nothing... I had the impression I should've been wearing a suit and tie before she'd even deign to recognize me. Very cold. There was construction going on in the entryway and it was often loud from morning onward, but the sound didn't travel up to my room, only loud in the lobby. There was an ATM onsite and that was very convenient. I would return to Basma and try it again as it's a good location, across the street from the Nubian museum and also near to a friend and family I visit every year.
